Wood & Wire has been a band for about five years and Tony Kamel, one of the founding members, plays guitar and provides lead vocals.  Tony has been making music for a while and learned to know the other band members from the music scene in Austin, Texas and eventually they all started picking together as Wood & Wire.

At the house concert on Friday, June 17, audience members can anticipate a high energy show of original bluegrass tunes, many written by Tony, with some classics sprinkled in.

The Wood & Wire house show is full. We encourage you to review the upcoming house concerts page and consider Kaia Kater on August 22, 2016.

One of my favorite songs on Wood & Wire’s album The Coast is Elucidation by banjo player Trevor Smith.  It is an instrumental that demonstrates the incredible skill of each band member and highlights the banjo.  Trevor, from Tuscon, Arizona  grew up playing classical piano but after attending his first bluegrass festival he was perplexed by the sound of the banjo. He picked it up, mastered it,  and later added guitar and mandolin to his talents.

Wood & Wire will be at Chestnut House Concerts on Friday, June 17.  There will be a potluck at 6 pm and the music will begin at 7 pm.  Suggested donation of 15/20 per person and RSVP with Tim at tlehman9@gmail.com or by calling 7179409311.  This show is almost full; we have room for 3 or 4 more.
